.Catalyst.
Is anyone getting some aesthetic markings on theirs? Mines kind of spotting in areas on the display face.Yes, mine is delaminating in a couple spots - looks like little squiggly clear lines just beneath the surface. Car is garage kept, so I doubt it's from excessive exposure to the elements. My spec.B [#163] Project Thread with Pictures Get CryoTuned!

Daniels
If you are having issues with the face just meal him and he will send an extra plate. I damaged mine during install. No questions asked a new one was sent as a replacement. Free. Hope this helps.
DOHCstunr
I love mine. Super clean and the features make it better than most of the gauges out there.

evildriver
so my boost gauge stopped working after my stage 3 install... the only thing i changed with the unit was plugging in my plx wideband. the gauge still functions properly, and even displays afr, but it's not picking up any boost/vacuum. because it's not picking up boost/vacuum it is constantly shutting the screen off. any ideas? i tried unplugging the wideband already. i assume the power/ground is fine since the gauge itself still works. maybe something with my bpv or the line running off of it to the unit? i'll probably pull the fender lining this weekend to check it. ShadowImg
Did you maybe blow debris into the tubing to the pressure sensor? If the gauge is working, I'd suspect the pressure sensor rather than the gauge.
evildriver
I suppose that's always possible... I plugged up every hole that was exposed with some cloth while things were apart. The only thing I can think of is if there was some residual debris from when I cleaned up the tmic while installing the bulletproof kit. I think I'd be having bigger issues at this point if that was the case though.
snow05gtRI
did you do a boost leak test and maybe pop a hose off?
evildriver
I just got tuned yesterday and we found a hose that had popped off but that didn't fix the gauge. I'm going to pull the fender liner tonight or tomorrow probably to check the hose going into the unit. I'd be surprised if that was the issue but it's worth a try. evildriver
anyone have recommendations for vacuum hose? i'm not a big fan of the stuff they sell on the website, too hard to work with. hoping to replace mine in case any kinks are causing the issues. ShadowImg
You can get vacuum hose from any auto parts store.
evildriver
they recommend hose with an ID .17" and OD .25"... i haven't seen that where i've looked so far. is that sizing specification a necessity or just guidelines?
ShadowImg
Can't imagine the OD makes any difference, the ID varying somewhat shouldn't really matter unless you try to use like a 1" ID so it can't reasonably pressurize it. If you use a slightly larger ID it might account for some miniscule change in reaction based on a delay pressurizing the hose, but whatever, this isn't like human-scale measurable amounts. Moderators BarManBean Posted November 20, 2014 Moderators Share Posted November 20, 2014 Internal diameter will matter a lot simply because without the right ID the hose won't fit onto the VBG1 sender. OD would only matter I think if the hose was so thin that it collapsed under vacuum... mainelyperformance
So does he still make them
ShadowImg
You can use a reducer to fit it to the VBG1 sender if necessary, it's ridged and should allow for a pretty big variance in hose size. A small ziptie on it will also serve as a pretty large adjustment range for hose.
evildriver
thanks fellas. the hose provided fits a little loosely in my opinion anyways so i think 4mm would be a good (if not better) fit. i got a response from lossol, he recommended i try connecting a new hose straight from the cockpit to verify if any kinks are causing the issue first. if not the unit is warrantied for the first year so he said i could send it back to be repaired.
