kelly
Hello, I bought my autospeed TBE from Dan at www.fastwrx.com. I've had it now for two months before I got the time to put it on. Anyways... The install was pretty simple stright forward stuff, just make sure that everything is on before you tighten the bolts up. The exhaust is loud as in V8 dual glasspack loud. I've owned V8's with dual glasspacks and this sounds just like that. It starts up "mean" and then settles down into a deep throaty rumble "the boxer rumble". As you drive the car the exhaust is noticable but not obnoxtious, well it just sounds like a V8 with dual glasspacks. When you get on it, the exhaust is loud, I call it fun loud because I want to hear as well as feel the performance. Cruising in 5th it settles down and becomes a low rumble I would call it a nice rumble that the wife doesn't mind. So to some up: The car nows sounds like a V8 with dual glasspacks ... simple Kelly I will answer any questions.....

franklin
I got my Autospeed system the other day. It may take me a few months to get it on too due to my schedule. The one I see on the site looks to be a single exhaust. Mine is duals. Yours is duals too correct. Did you reuse the factory gaskets or get new ones? kelly
BTW. One of the reason I haven't taken a picture is because the passenger side muffler is very tight in the slot where as the driver side fits like factory. I'm going to speak to Autospeed to see if there is something I did or is something they can fix or is there a fix needed. Kelly

specinvstr
Sounds like a design issue. Mine is the same. Darn, I wish it was something I did. If the passenger side lined up like the driver side it would be awesome. This thing sounds awesome.

SubLo
I installed my Autospeed TBE (mated to Cobb Catted DP) today and have this retarded passenger fitment issue - touches/rubs plastic. Can't center it or elongate it out the same as the driver side. I posted all my thoughts about it here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64072 Does anyone have a fix? Kartboy hangers? I'm not happy with this thing at what I paid for it - the fitment anyway - less then professional. Sounds and looks perfect though. qikslvr
There is a thread here somewhere, but the short answer is to ziptie/wiretie the muffler hanger up to the hanger on the car. Also you guys might try loosening the passenger side muffler bolts and have someone hold the muffler where you want it to be and then tighten the y-pipe->muffler bolts about a half turn at a time and alternate back and forth between the two bolts until snug. I even had to do this on my SPT CBE to get it to line up properly. Let's kick this pig!
johnAWD
Your description is almost identical to what I experienced after bolting up my perrin catback. V8 with glasspacks. Damn straight.
SubLo
Addendum: First decent trip with the Autospeed CBE. Drove up from Queens, NY to Tuxedo (Renaissance Faire on 17A- awesome). There is indeed a good amount of droning on throttle. Not terrible but noticeable. I personally like to hear my car. Wife goes along for the trip and starts with the ugly faces - "something's wrong with the car... can you get it fixed?:lol:" She hates the exhaust. She even tried putting crumpled up napkins in her ears . Got to get rid of the wife. The CBE stays. ________________________________________________ '05 BSM OBXT Row-your-own, W.I.P. '06 Shrek B # 64 - The car the wife loved to hate :( Sold...
iuksob03
I'm pretty much feeling the same way after having it on for a few weeks. I love the sound of it, the fitment could be better. I am going to look to get some dnyamat or something to try and kill a little bit of the drone though. It funny now though, I listen to the radio at a lower volume just so I can hear the exhaust. I hear ya. I've actually kept the radio off to listen to the exhaust. Fitment, yep, is a major gripe. Today, before my 140 mile or so trip, I got down there on the creeper (without jacking) unhooked the rear-most hanger on the passenger side, pulled to the side and lowered the muffler a bit, and reattached muffler to hanger indirectly using 2 zip ties. Ghetto but effective a little. No more rubbing on plastic. Still not perfect. Gonna write to Autospeed on Monday. ________________________________________________ '05 BSM OBXT Row-your-own, W.I.P. '06 Shrek B # 64 - The car the wife loved to hate :( Sold...
