skibob6
So about a week ago (2 weeks after i bought the car!!!) i spun a rod bearing and destroyed a rod revealing a disturbing and painful squeal i did not know was possible for an engine to make, rather disapointed i took the car back to the man i bought it from, a subaru master tech, and asked what he would do about it. long story short im getting a rebuild @the tune of $500.i was just wondering how commonly this happens or if it is normal at 142,000 miles (not likely) and why it happend. Guess im not getting those wrx springs wanted anymore...
jonklein611
should not be happening @ 142k. What model / year legacy are we talking about? Is it a 2.5 or 2.2L? A $500 rebuild is a bargain, that's hopefully good news.
KnifeyMcShanker
Not normal to happen, I've seen it in a few other posts recently. That's a cheap rebuild though... at least he's not over charging you.

sliCCriC
500 is a steal, when my motor went, i paid $1,200 for a new motor, the good thing was it only had about 20,000 miles on it
