f85stealth
It has been so long since I have had a factory exhaust I forgot...... Is there an EGT sensor in the exhaust manifold and up-pipe or only the up-pipe? My aftermarket exhaust manifold has an EGT bung and a sensor plugged into it. My up-pipe does not. Trying to figure out the part number for the sensor I have plugged into my exhaust manifold.
relative4
The sensor in the exhaust manifold is the upper O2 sensor.
Max Capacity
The EGT sensor was in the stock up pipe. The front O2 sensor (bank 1) is in the exhaust manifold just in front of where the joint is where it bolts to the up pipe. http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x40/92Si/DSCN4777.jpg 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. MilesA
The stock car has an EGT sensor in the catted uppipe. It is used to monitor that cat. It's no longer needed if you use a catless uppipe. The stock front O2 sensor is placed in the exhaust manifold just before the uppipe connection. Edit: Max beat me to it!
f85stealth
Hmm. What about the rear sensor on the cat after the downpipe? I am getting a P0546 code randomly. The Cobb didn't tell me what circuit or bank, only Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit High. I haven't changed anything on the car in years and figured it probably just needs a new sensor (114,000 miles). I haven't had a sensor in the up-pipe for years and it is tuned so there is no resistor mod to my knowledge.
MilesA
Hmm. What about the rear sensor on the cat after the downpipe? That is the rear O2 sensor. Used to monitor catalyst efficiency. There are several DTCs associated with that but P0546 isn't one of them.

MilesA
Well, you said your car was tuned to disable that DTC. Do you know how that was done? The workshop manual says the cause of this DTC is open or short circuit on the EGT sensor. Do you still have the EGT sensor? The resistor mod is very cheap and easy to do. A pack of 5 2.2K ohm resistors is under $2 at Radio Shack and it take just a few minutes to install one. In the FSM, refer to page GD(H4DOTC)-166. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/vacation-pix-171435.html

No I do not have the sensor anymore. It has been like this for years though. The only thing I changed recently were the radiator fans.
relative4
If nobody has messed with the tune, then it sounds like maybe you had a resistor in and it wiggled loose or broke. Just google resistor mod diy site:legacygt.com
