ctfinest28
Hi guys I am trying to install the passenger side ocv. I have gotten as far as to taking the old one out but for some reason the new one isn't going right in. Can anyone give me any suggestions. Max Capacity
You have a 2005 for those that don't know, may be add that to your info under your screen name. If you have the right part it should slide right in. Can you re-install the old one ? Did you put some oil on the seal ? 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Max Capacity
I guess by now you have placed both parts next to each other and compared them ? How hard is it to pull the other side out and try it in this side ? I know you realize it has to fit... can you look inside the bore, take a picture of the bore ? 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). apexi
I'm sure you may have tried twisting the OCV, but it looks like the OCV bracket is facing the side in your picture, and based off of other pictures I've seen it looks like the bracket should be going straight up. ctfinest28
I did both ways it seems like there is something blocking it from entering
m sprank
Could be as simple as greasing the o-ring. If the old one came out...
ctfinest28
It seems like the piece of metal next to it is blocking it from going back in
gear_monkey
I had to slightly bend that metal bracket that is in the way(the turbo coolant tank bracket) towards the driver side. Once I slid the ocv past it, I just bent it back into place to put the coolant tank back in place.
ctfinest28
Thanks I was looking to fake it off, but couldn't find how to. What did you bend it with btw?

ctfinest28
Figured it out last night with my cousin. We had to grab an extender and place it behind the ocv then slowly hammer it in. What a PITA to figure out
Max Capacity
LOL yea, you would never think you had to hammer it in...stupid subaru... 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs.
