Just can't find other people who have lifted their 2017 legacy. Wanted to know how they like the ride with the lift kit and if they got new shocks. Ulster2008
I don’t know what it is. I just installed it 5 days ago. But the body roll is almost non existent now. My suspension probably hasn’t settled yet or I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that the factory suspension is probably made for the outback and not the legacy. 2” lift from ADF. The picture I attached is stock tires and rims, so 225/55r17 but I’ll be putting on 235/65r17s here in a couple of days. I’ll keep you up to date on how they fit. But for real, do it. http://imgur.com/3JeUtfN

What did you mean that the suspension was made for the outback?
Ulster2008
Did you have to modify anything to make the outback front bumper fit? Nope didn’t have to modify anything. The legacy even has plugs for the Subaru outback’s fog light motor which turns the fog light when you turn. The only thing that didn’t fit onto the front bumper was the lower grill. But they’re luckily $20. As for the rear bumper, completely different shape. The outback has a wider tailgate than the legacy, also much higher brake lights. The rear bumper would need to be cut then fiberglassed to fit onto the legacy.

What did you mean that the suspension was made for the outback? Thank you thank you. It’s not done yet, still have to paint the front bumper and work on roof rack and lighting system. Also a few more outback parts for the exterior. The Subaru Outback greatly succeeds the legacy in sales. The outback is basically a body lifted legacy, same shocks, springs and subframes as the legacy. So it’s spring rate and rebound settings are most likely tuned for the body lifted outback. I don’t know, don’t take my words too seriously. It’s all speculation.

Out of the box is that going to fit a legacy without the door clippings/tower mount system that Thule or Yakima use? or are you going to do some custom fab? I've got the Yakima with the tower clipings over the doors and I would love to have a perminently mounted rack that isn't eating up my paint. Ulster2008
Out of the box is that going to fit a legacy without the door clippings/tower mount system that Thule or Yakima use? or are you going to do some custom fab? I've got the Yakima with the tower clipings over the doors and I would love to have a perminently mounted rack that isn't eating up my paint. So, out of the box regardless any legacy owner will have to drill into their rain gutters to mount something like this. As our generation doesn’t have factory mounting points for a roof rack. Although it’s a super easy process for any body shop to create mounting points for you. I’m hoping that the crosstrek’s rain gutters are the same distance apart and the same dimensions as the legacy’s (probably not) I’m hopefully going to go meet with the guy at ASE who is making them and do a test fit. If it fits, I’ll have him update his website so we have a solid and cheap roof rack that we can buy out of the box. If not I’ll see if he would be interested in filling out orders for legacy roof racks. As for right now, what you could do is get some clear bra material. Cut and apply it to the area that the tower clippings are sitting on so you don’t get anymore contact with the paint.

tornichoe
Did you have to modify anything to make the outback front bumper fit? I want to do this some day. The fogs on the legacy are a joke

The fogs on the legacy are a joke Yeah I kinda don’t like our stock fogs too,I’m thinking of covering it up and putting something on the middle opening of the bumper, probably a pair of 4” fogs or maybe a pair of 7” jeep headlights
