Greasy Leak, rear diff pinion seal?

Nope, not the pinion seal. You have burst one of the hydraulic outrigger bushings in the rear dif cradle. Replace with Whiteline solid bushings part KTD905 you can also get the ktd906 inserts to help stiffen up the back end a little more.

Probably just the rear diff mount. Those mounts have thick fluid bushings... I was troubled by something similar many years ago and it was just the mount. Cheap/Quick fix.

Did you replace with new bushings or buy the whole part?

 

I see them on ebay for like 50 bucks used, cant seem to find a part number to see if I can find one new.

 

Anybody have an OEM partnumber for the rear diff carrier bracket for an 05 LGT 5MT?

After looking around the different links...yea, how comes its so hard to find...

 

Benny can get you stock one or get a Energy Suspension bushing for it for a trusted vendor. I did that and had my machine shop buddy press in the new one.

 

Your in NJ, Have www.AZPinstalls.com do it for you. Take a day trip to them if you need.

305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).  CHECK your oil, these cars use it.

Yeah it almost seems like it might be part of the rear diff case or something. I have found a picture or 2 in those diagrams, but cant actually find the part itself.

 

Ill keep looking, Id like do just swap it out for another part in my driveway if possible.. dont have a press so if I can do the whole part that would be tits.

If you buy this part it's a 10 min job, no presses, no trips to AZP because you won't need to spend money on someone elses labor. Unless it's all rusty as heck... well then... worth it. Maybe.

I bought a impact universal for my impact gun, sprayed the rusty nut and bolts with PB Blaster, let it sit for 15 minutes and the impact gun worked great.

Rust definitely is a factor here... can you get the bolts out of the top of the diff if you break one? Not sure how much clearance there is under there. If so, maybe ill buy all the required hardware along with it.
