Well many of you know I show my car so 2020 Season is around the corner so finally decided to do some more work on the interior. Started with the Center Console got suede put on it over xmas and wanted the side trim done on the Shifter Trim panel but they couldn't do it the way I wanted so they recommended paint match, So that's what I did and it came out pretty good, So I decide to paint my speaker grills and side vents aa well as the Shifter Trim.. removing the and transferring parts on the center console wasn't too hard.3b531ad003f6b6501c4246bc78a71dd9.jpgb8b2f955f1bd6ecea3e85f7b79351345.jpg

I'm in the process of changing the air tank (was given an iron one when I ordered aluminium). But this resulted in my mechanic needing it overnight. Once I got it back I drove down the road and noticed my right rear bag was dropping in psi. I turned back and they failed to stop the leak. The bag was empty. After about an hour or so they "fixed it". I attempted to drive out again and I lifted the car and dropped it again. But the the same rear bag wouldn't drop. Turns out they broke the actuator. I had to leave my car there again. It's been days now. They're now saying they blew the actuator's ecu line to the bag. Anyways yeah so that's what I'm up to.

Please guys. Don't buy cheaper alternatives and don't get specialist items installed by specialists in something completely different.

What Bag system are you using?

Airllen aka KS Racing aka KSport aka AirMext.

Just got the car back today. Looks like it's working again. I made them make me a new carpeted MDF board and clean up the lines and cabling.

I've had a few issues with the controller, bags and ECU (and they've replaced it) but hopefully for now all is well.

Note I had to get a 40mm lowered BRZ rear lower control arm to fit double bellow bags on the rear.

How my car looks (it's about 10-20mm lower now):

Well the double bellows I had did not make the car level when fully dropped. It was about 2cm higher in the rear. Winding down the shocks wasn't an option as it would have killed the ride quality and again it wouldn't match the front. So yeah they offered the lower rear control arm.

They also couldn't get new struts that would fit the bag etc. They ordered some in to try but it failed.

These bags are likely not even for my car hence the issue.

But now it seems all good. Except the extension length doesn't seem right. I was told by an airbag manufacturer that it should be extending higher.

Note my mechanic is specialises in racing and tuning. My car is their 2nd air suspension install.

Other air suspension places are next to non existent and charge x4 as much.

Live and learn.

If I went with airlift suspension and accuair I would have paid about 2.5x more than I did now and I'd have 100% less drama.

Thanks for your input.. Yeah unfortunately we really only have 2 good options for Air Struts and those are Airtekk and Airrex.. Any good management system can work with these struts. I have the complete Airrex setup and haven't had any issues since I installed it in 2016..[emoji41] It's a solid setup

I'd love some pictures and measurements of your car fully raised and fully lowered.

Ok.. I'll take some later this week and send them to your DM.. What pressure do you run in front and rear..?

Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

50psi front 45psi rear as my bare minimum daily height. Any lower and I'll get knocking.

But normally 55 front and 50 rear is safe.

Fully loaded car I would just do 60/60.

Any higher and the ride quality would be shit.

I can do measurements and photos too if you'd like. It's best to do it in the garage as it's as level as you can get it.

0psi

Front = 62cm

Rear = 61cm

100psi

Front = 70cm

Rear = 68cm

50/45psi

Front = 63.5cm

Rear = 63.5cm

Haha shit I didn't realise how low I was driving.

Roads here in California United States suck in and out of driveways So with my Sti Front Lip I have to run

Front Pressure - 85 psi

Rear Pressure - 70 psi

My max Pressure is 135 psi Full Up

When cruising the highway I lower the Front to 70 to 75 and 65 to 70 for the Rear.

I'll do measurements tomorrow with some pics.. I wouldn't run too low just because you might start tearing CV Boots.. I had a friend on Gecko Coil overs and had it pretty low and kept tearing up Front Axles..

I'll get you the measurements tomorrow. I've been slammed at work and have been working on a couple new car upgrades.. I don't air out my car every day only when I'm at car shows.. It's less wear on the bags and compressor and management components..

Gave her a new haircut after 45cm of snow

From someone who comes from a place where there is no snow, I'd like to ask you (and any other "eskimos" :)) ... how long would you normally expect your car to last before it was severely rust affected due to the snow, and the salt used on the roads over there? And that must greatly affect the resale value wouldn't it?
