DoctorDaveLGT
I installed the Perrin Lock-down damper, Cusco power steering brace & lower arm bar all at the same time. My shimmy happened in the 75-80 range before I installed these and it still occurs there with no changes to shimmy intensity.
Tehnation
can either of you say if the lock down damper did anything to steering? Disregard the shimmy thing, I want to know if it increased steering response!
rhino6303
can either of you say if the lock down damper did anything to steering? Disregard the shimmy thing, I want to know if it increased steering response! It tightens the steering response, yes; less slop. Buy the solid sti linkage. It's cheaper and easy to swap. Tehnation
34170AG022 is a 200 subaru part....wtf I don't think thats the right part number, it keeps pulling up legacy linkage and pictures of the crappy lgt part. 77 bucks seems about right not to deal with all this nonsense lol Edited July 15, 2020 by Tehnation
shralp
Did put the Perrin piece in my track car. Did pick up increased steering response Not going to try it in my DD Outback, I don’t think it will fix my shimmy issue
Febreze Mee
+1 on the Perrin Lockdown increasing steering response. Not as much dead space in the steering wheel. MILKRUN - Click Here

Max Capacity
The OEM part is about $140 or more. The Perrin is #75 There is a Torque Solutions collar out there also, I think that was around $50. Max Capacity
and its the same part number as the lgt with the thing in the middle? No, the STI is a different part number and it does not have the rubber piece. 2008-2020 STI is what you want. I just happened to find one on ebay from a 2014. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it.
