Brake Clean in Throttle Body Electrical

Recommended Posts

So I am working on putting together my new engine and I know you are not supposed to use brake clean on electrical components, but I accidentally got some in my throttle body electronics. I was just cleaning the outside, but i didn't know that there is a hole in the back that leads to the motor and other electrical stuff. Do you think this damaged my throttle body? I also have a throtle body from a 2011 wrx that i was just going to install to be safe incase i did damage the original one, but according to the subaru website they are different part numbers. i can see slight diferences between the two but nothing to make me question the fitment. Can this throtle body be used in place of my 2005 OBXT one?

Thanks!
