roundthirteen
Hi, this is a question for people who have several dozen time slips stashed in your car. I've been running test and tune and stick shift classes at the drag strip since I've had my 08 Spec B and in those 7 years I've never asked what RPM other people are launching at? I've been launching at 5,200 to 5,500rpms with decent success 1.7/1.8 60's and I've only broke on motor mount that had 60,000ish miles on it. Is there a better RPM to launch at? I was doing this on an OEM replacement clutch (6 speed) with 322 wheel torque. I just switched to an ACT HD/SS with an oem STI flywheel and it feels like it's a little more rev happy. I am just wondering if I'm launching too hard and what the consensus RPM is. My car's not a sleeper it's a hibernator. http://pure-tuning.com
Max Capacity
If your tires are spinning to much, then lower the launch rpm. The car should move forward cleanly without dropping its noise or spinning the tires to much. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Engine Build - Click Here
