carrata
Hey everyone, just thought I'd share something i discovered. After reading elsewhere on the forum that Land Rover DVD's work in the European nav units, I thought I'd experiment. Denso is the supplier for most OEM navigation units, and Navteq is the map data company they use. I tested a Lexus disc (464210-1380). The files on this disc are dated June 2009. The maps and region selection worked as did the POI's. The map version number came up as 09.1 . There was no voice direction and the map graphics were the same. The current Subaru 4.0 disc is 464210-8960 and the files are dated September 2008. The file structure on both discs seems similar, so I'm wondering if a custom disc can be made. Soon, I will try an Infinity/Nissan nav disc, and a Navteq map for Ford.

wpgspecb
are the new 4.0 discs the same ones found in the 2010 sti ? If so then I have my hands on them
carrata
I don't know the answer to that. Can you load them into your computer and see what the disk is titled? The number should be similar to the one in the first post if it is a Denso disc. Thanks!

carrata
Nothing promising. I tried making a franken-disk by using the data from the Lexus disk with the file structure of the Subaru disk, but it did not read. Haven't really put much effort into this project since....
