LosAngelesLGT
I have no holes in my front bumper and wanted to keep it that way. I am sick of playing over $100 a year in tickets because of no front plate. Getting harassed by the CHP was the final straw and I want a front plate that is easy for me to take off and leaves my car unblemished. I also do not want the plate to interfere with the airflow to my FMIC. My plate sit so the top of the plate is just above the top edge of my bumper and the bottom is just below the bottom edge.http://i40.tinypic.com/4ru9m8.jpg So that I could mount it and hide how it is mounted, I drilled new holes and mounted L brackets to the front plate. In my state, the background is light and the numbers are dark so it was easiest to hide the bolts on top of the letters/numbers.http://i41.tinypic.com/2gvomsw.jpg I used a long bracket so it would reach far back under the bumper but only bolted it to the plate on one hole, each side. Why make it more complicated?http://i39.tinypic.com/28klxt2.jpg The L brackets need to sit high enough behind the plate not to be seen but be long enough to reach under the bumper.http://i41.tinypic.com/qqcxsh.jpg A 1/4" hole needs to be drilled up through the bumper skin as far back as possible. I did this WITH THE BUMPER ON by holding the drill at a 30 degree angle and holding it VERY steady with both hands.http://i43.tinypic.com/2e4kbkg.jpg Using FLATHEAD MACHINE SCREWS I inserted the machine screw into a washer and then inserted the machinescrew and washer blindly into the new bumperholes from inside the bumper skin. Once in place, I put the plate/bracket on and I added a LOCKWASHER and a nut and was able to easily torque it down from just one side. It is now very easy to remove the bolts, drop the bumper with brackets off the car, and replace the bolts. Honestly, this could be done with a SINGLE BRACKET if you tighten it down very tight. USE FLATHEAD MACHINE SCREWS.http://i44.tinypic.com/2d1aikz.gif EDIT: If you have read this far and see fit to flame me, I am just tired of explaining how to do this to newbs who have ZERO mechanical skills at all (people that have no idea what a FLAT HEAD MACHINE SCREW is...) rao
Looks good (well I usually don't drive around with newspaper over my front plate, but to each his own) I would be a little bit concerned about how strong it is - I suspect a nice ride in the snow might cause some problems, but that is not a big deal for you. As far as newspaper over the front plate goes, that took 3 seconds which is 57 seconds less than painting over the plate digitally. I am not trying to advertise where I live or what is in my car for the taking. It is AMAZINGLY solid. Once the washer and lockwasher squish the bracket to the bumper those brackets are ON THERE. When I went to the CHP to get the car cleared after installing the plate they check to make sure it is solidly mounted. I made sure that an officer would have to REALLY yank to move this plate. I'll make/post a video. View My Video Now you can be glad to watch it too

DeltaSniper
considering you already spent 100 bucks on tickets, doesnt seem bad at all huh LOL hide it while driving and then pop it back up when parking, too bad the price is a bit steep for most of the other people

Thats $100 (at least) PER YEAR. The CHP ticket was $25 but I had to wait in three different lines at three different places for over an hour each. Have had the car for 6 years... OOF. THATS A TURBO. As it is, I occasionally scrape at STOCK height so...
bnguyenbb6
Autozone sells a mount that pushes the plate upward, no need to drill more holes in the bumper. Edit: Dammit, read over the "no holes on the front of my bumper" part.

Not the same thing as saying 90210 Beverly Hills. Which is also like saying Los Angeles... Its big city talk. You should know what big city talk is.
