Is the overall thickness from the crank mounting flange to the tips of the pressure plate fingers the same between your stock and STI/ACT units?

As long as you are certain all is good with the flywheel/clutch and throwout bearing setup, call ACT and ask them why their clutch isn't working properly with your specific setup. They would be a good place to start.

well guys sorry for the wild goose chase, i found the flaw in my install. I trusted one of my buddies when he said he knew how to bleed a clutch. there was so much air in the slave cylinder it wasnt even funny. Wow what a difference in a slipping clutch to an act clutch. Its really grabby but no chatter or squeal, so for freshly installed im very happy
