WhatV8
Is the overall thickness from the crank mounting flange to the tips of the pressure plate fingers the same between your stock and STI/ACT units? As long as you are certain all is good with the flywheel/clutch and throwout bearing setup, call ACT and ask them why their clutch isn't working properly with your specific setup. They would be a good place to start.
scottmor31
This isnt specifically for my car but there have been numerous threads that say the sti clutch works in the spec b
Turninconcepts
The STi clutch does work. Did you reinstall the pivot pin in the clutch fork?
scottmor31
yeah everything was installed as it came out as far as i can tell, yet when i push the clutch in it falls to the floor and does not come back
scottmor31
is there an adjustment to make the slave cylinder extend further
scottmor31
well guys sorry for the wild goose chase, i found the flaw in my install. I trusted one of my buddies when he said he knew how to bleed a clutch. there was so much air in the slave cylinder it wasnt even funny. Wow what a difference in a slipping clutch to an act clutch. Its really grabby but no chatter or squeal, so for freshly installed im very happy
kevkel33leg05
wish i saw this earlier i would of told you to bleed it again. The clutch pedal sticking to the floor is a dead give away. Just be sure to break in that new clutch or you'll be back down there again.
WhatV8
The pedal staying on the floor would have been a good clue to start with. Glad you found the issue before smoking your new clutch. Enjoy!
