One Polk DB651 blown.. replace with..

So did some investigating this weekend trying to figure out why my passenger side front speaker was dead. Looks like its the speaker itself, the head-unit and amp check out.

Not sure if I should just buy another pair of the same speakers or buy something different. Are the Polk's still the go-to here? Ive been into car audio (casually) for a long time and have always run either Pioneer (because of the price and sound) or Eclipse (when I had a few extra bills in my pocket before real life hit me).

I was never really happy with the way the polks sounded.. but I didnt know if it was them, my install, the car or the amp. They just seem kinda flat to me.

Is there anything in the sub 100 dollar a pair category that might be a step up and be better paired with my Alpine KTP-445 that fit with with the spacers I have (pvc from a member here)?

Thanks Ya'll.

I could even bridge the amp to get into better power handling speakers...

45 Watts x 4 @ 4Ω/2Ω

90 Watts x 2 @ 4Ω Bridged
