subie_dude05
Too bad Subaru didn't follow the article's advice, and turned the Legacy from a nice looking niche car into an ugly, mainstream AWD Camry. Completely agree!! and they dont look like they are listening to, “The worst thing that could happen to them is they have the aspirations of becoming a big car company,” Hossack said. “They could increase their sales if they just introduced a low-cost, low-priced, non-all-wheel-drive version. Don’t do it. Then you just become just like the Hondas and Toyotas and Nissans of the world. Be a niche player.” next few years awd will be a option on the legacy
krzyss
“They’ve stuck to their knitting,” Hossack said. “They did not do a pickup; they did not do a minivan.” Baja? Tribeca (almost minivan). Krzys
IwannaSportSedan
Baja was not a pickup, in the sense that a Nissan Frontier is, let alone an F150 or Silverado. it was an open bed Outback. Tribeca is not really a minivan, as a FWD, flat-floor double-sliding-doors van kind of van. It is a car-based CUV... much like every other CUV is. But that is a valid point.... and it makes one wonder what Hossack meant when he discussed "sticking to their knitting..." BTW, off topic, I wonder if Jim Hossack is related to Norman Hossack, the inventor of the SLA front motorcycle suspension, which ostensibly became BMW's Duolever front suspension.
