Vtino_rossi
Gents good day. Thank you for the hospitality. I'll try make this brief, as I have read countless forums & posts. Ok 2007 liberty gt "5eat" Bought this car at a bargain price. Turbo was shagged - $1100 bucks turbo tech had a vf52 on the shelf.... so I slapped on a brand new snail. Awesome! Got the car running ... only to find its stuck in limp mode. Got p1718 with CEL code p0600 & p0700... read alot of info about contradicting theories.. so I proceeded to do: auto service, oil, filters & flush Engine service oil, filters and plugs. Still the car sits in limp mode, (drives normally) No boost. Car runs exceptionally well. Not a single leak. Idles perfectly. Does a cold start with all run ins. Shifts gears smoothly. Oil temp light flashes (points to the TCU) changed that already) CEL light stays on solid Cruise control blinking (obvious reason) Si drive #s unusable. I have since replaced all earth wires from engine to chassis .. Extra heavy duty earth cable from battery-chassis Extra heavy duty + from battery to alternator As I have been told it's a bad connection or earth somewhere. I have also checked all wiring outside the gearbox, under the bonnet. Where the TCU is mounted, with no such win. I have followed every single forum thread that Google throws at me in relation to this issue with no results. So I have to prey someone else has an easy fix. I have an ob2 reader (not a cheap one) Very mechanically minded. Have reset codes many times. It just comes straight back Car is beautiful ... would be a shame to pull it apart. :spin::spin:
amm203
If you haven't already, take it to Advanced Auto or Autozone and have them run a test on your alternator (it's free). I'm currently driving with P0700, P1718 and C0045 accompanied by random battery & parking brake lights on my dash at startup. I'm getting random voltage dips near 12.0 volts when coming to a stop/idling at red lights and experiencing generally low voltage overall. A test at Advanced Auto confirmed I have a perfectly healthy battery but a dying/faulty alternator. I have a Denso reman alternator coming in the mail and will update the results. Tehnation
stop lamp switch?... same issue on this thread, seems like a simple fix? https://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f88/cel-p0700-p1718-solved-607049/ Edited July 22, 2019 by Tehnation
Tehnation
from what i'm seeing looks like something electrical...bad terminal, corrosion...bad relay, its probably something like that, something isn't giving a signal Edited July 22, 2019 by Tehnation
Tehnation
put "p1718 site:legacygt.com" and "p0600 site:legacygt.com" in google, bunch of stuff which should give you a good lead as to where to start. it looks like a tranny electrical problem. amm203
To be honest, I'd be more concerned with "bargain price" and "shagged turbo". Seems like the early makings of YNANSB. Good luck OP and please report back on your findings/solution to help people who run across this issue in the future
