bradze Posted December 23, 2012 Share Posted December 23, 2012 the only chrome remaining on my outback is the chrome ring around the emblem on the tailgate. it looks like crap since everything else is black so i'm going to plasti-dip it. i've never used plasti-dip before and what i've read on nasioc for going around the emblem scares me. can i just take the rear emblem off like on the front? i want it to look perfect and i dont have the patience for 6 million pieces of tape. I used one piece of 1" orange masking tape when I did mine and it came out tits. But I'm skilled wit teh tape. For around the periphery(sp?) on the rear, you will have to use like 7-8 pieces, not six million. You can get 1" tape to conform and "bend" like a mofo if you take your time. famaya26 Posted December 24, 2012 Share Posted December 24, 2012 Mask around the emblem, the trunk. Make it around 3-4 inches of tape. You don't have to mask the emblem when your dipping.
