Coilover Winter Prep

Winters coming fast and I want to protect my coilovers for the snow and salt. Originally i was going to swap my stocks back in but money and time is tight this season so im running them year round. A lot of places are saying put on a layer of anti seize or lithium grease to prevent them from rusting but id expect that to just catch more dirt and salt. My idea is to do just that and put on a layer of grease/rust preventative oil and wrap them in some sort of plastic and tape tightly so nothing gets in. where im stuck on is if that plastic will melt being pretty close to the brakes or having them tear while driving. Bad idea? good idea? opinions would be awesome.

Interested in opinions on this, but I'm pretty sure the bad idea part of this starts when you chose to leave the coilovers on during winter. Realistically, I don't think you can protect them from the elements.
