jonathan909
Hi, folks. I'm brand new here, but with a decent amount of soob experience and an indecent number of cars (OBW and Forester). I'm trying to track down the TSM for an '01 Legacy GT 2.0 NA in order to help out a friend - the wiring diagrams are of particular interest. Can anyone direct me to it? Thanks very much. jonathan909
Thanks, but I went through every post and either I've already visited or it's a ghost town. No luck at all.
Infosecdad
For which part of the world?
jonathan909
To be honest, that's the part that's confusing. Situation is that we have a 2.0 complete with manifold, ECU, and harness that we've been told came from the above-described car, and that it was North American. What's confusing is that I've always been led to believe that all 2.0 GTs in this market were/are turbo, which this clearly isn't. The ultimate goal here is installing it in a VW Westfalia van, a conversion that my pal has done a few times. So this is why we're trying to find the *correct* electrical drawings - we need to suss out the colour codes. What's maddening is that it came with about a dozen pages of schematics (which PO printed them is not known - it's passed through a few hands) that appear to match (from what I can see so far), but they're incomplete and we can't find out which manual they're from. Every one I've d/l-ed and looked at so far has serious differences.
Infosecdad
in 2001, Legacys had 2.2 or 2.5 in North America; we didn't get the 2.0 A 2001 Legacy GT (north america) would be a 2.5 engine. http://www.cars101.com/legacy2001.html If it's from around that year, then it's either Japan or Euro spec. I think you can probably find it here: https://sl-i.net/FORUM/showthread.php?18087-Subaru-Factory-Service-Manuals-(FSM)-Every-Model-USDM-EU Look for the Legacy BE/BH 2002 manual (the 01 is just the H6 supplements). It has the 2.0 listed from that generation outside the US.

I think you can probably find it here: https://sl-i.net/FORUM/showthread.php?18087-Subaru-Factory-Service-Manuals-(FSM)-Every-Model-USDM-EU Yeah, that's one of the first places I looked, but obviously not at the right doc. Look for the Legacy BE/BH 2002 manual (the 01 is just the H6 supplements). It has the 2.0 listed from that generation outside the US. I'm familiar with that destination, having a couple of '01 H6s myself. Hadn't yet looked at other years, will do so now.
jonathan909
No, that wasn't it either.
Infosecdad
What do you mean? The 2002 and 2001 are almost the same and it has wiring diagrams. Guess I’m not sure what to look for then.
ehsnils
No, that wasn't it either. What are you actually looking for to be more specific? Most of the wiring is quite similar regardless of if it's a 2.0 or 2.2.
jonathan909
Here's what I know for sure: We have a naturally-aspirated EJ20 along with the wiring harness claimed to be from the same car. And since the NA EJ20 was never in a North American market car, this must be a JDM engine. What we need is the schematic that matches it, and I mean matches it, because we have to reassemble this thing based on the wire colour codes. [edit] We also know which ECU we have.
