subieguy21
Hello all. I have been looking into a turbo, and am wondering if I should turbocharge my current 2.5 or STi swap the motor and trans. Has anybody attempted it on a N/A 5th gen? And has anyone STi swapped? Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Sarang
What you should do is buy a GT or 3.6R if you want more power. Search for "turbo 2.5i" in the fifth gen forum: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/can-you-turbocharge-2-5i-262500.html?t=262500&highlight=turbo+2.5i http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/mods-2011-legacy-2-5i-premium-261555.html?t=261555&highlight=turbo+2.5i http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/first-time-subaru-owner-looking-advice-259195.html?t=259195&highlight=turbo+2.5i EDIT: Oh and since you have the FB engine, previous kits will not bolt up. You'd be all custom if you really wanted to turbo what you have.

FLlegacy
If your goal is a turbo charged Subaru spend as little as possible on this one and save your money for a turbo subie you can afford. If not an LGT perhaps a forester xt. Or you could get a crosstreck and order a raptor turbo kit for it.
dgoodhue
BTW If you are seeking more power from your 2.5i, the premium for the GT is worth it.

pfoyle
If you're looking to do a bunch of engine work, why not sell your 2.5i and buy my LGT with headgasket issues?! http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/wilmington-ma-2010-subaru-legacy-gt-engine-work-needed-263225.html

Peacesells
just buy a gt. I've owned a 2.5 n/a and the coolest thing you can do is have a gt exhaust that doesn't produce enough back pressure and back fires. ITs worth hunting down a gt and just starting with one of those
