my 98 Gt wagon

Recommended Posts

Here's my very first car. I turn 16 in October so i have time to do some work to it! It is a 1998 Legacy GT with 140,000 original miles. Just ordered a cartboy short shift and cobb knob to be installed later this week. I plan to tint the windows 20% all around, get some nice WRX wheels and just clean it up. I have a limited budget but if you have any suggestions for necessary add-ons please let me know :) Thanks.

Very nice, I have the same year gt 2.5 5 speed. have your HG's been updated to the new ones? Mine just got them from blowing them. I plan on lowering mine in the next month. Just got the 20% tint done. Ordered a weapon r short ram intake. Possibly getting a catless custom exhaust .

no my head gaskets haven't been updated. i might need look into doing that soon. i think im going to put a k&n custom air intake in. my shifter is currently all taken apart because im putting in a short shift, except the new damn shifter wont go in. so i have to get that put back together before i start anything else. my gauge lights are starting to go out so next i have to upgrade them to led. thinking of changing to colors to either red, white, or blue, or some combination.

Sick wagon. you could also look into getting a rear strut bar, which will help stiffen up your wagon.

For air intake i would suggest a hybrid setup in which the piping from the MAF back is replaced with metal piping and a K&N drop in is used. Cone filters dont do much they just let you hear your engine more.

...as for suspension take your time dont upgrade all the stuff at once. the best thing about subis is that there is a ton of info online so read, and read, then buy using your gained knowledge. And you can learn from a ton of ppl how to do things. welcome to the subi world

My red 98 GT 5MT wagon was bought by the PO in 2007 with 137k miles on it for about $4,600. Just goes to show you how little the value changed for basically the exact same car. I just bought mine about 2 months ago with 208k for $2000. They were asking $2,500 for it and I lowed balled them with like $1,800 lol

I paid 3750 for mine, With 128k miles. gt 5speed 98. One week of driving it. HG's popped lol. Lucky I work at a subaru dealer in parts and got it fixed on the side for 300 dollars. Plus 135 for the new HG's kit. Ive been looking for an exhaust but the only thing I can find is a custom made one in town. You looking to get new rims/paint them ? Was browsing duplicolor for some wheel paint. Bronze looks awful good on a white car and black

I got new bulbs off ebay ( blue heads yellow fogs) tinted the windows 20% all around, and just picked up some 18" rotas. Gonna get some pics this weekend, the wheels change the whole car! I also just did all new brakes and plugs, fuel filter, and oil change! :)

piece of crap? It looks good

Well, it looks good after doing the timing, new plugs/wires, PCV valve, valve cover gaskets, replacing and painting the wheels, getting new tires, intstalling a new rear sway bar, installing JDM projectors w/halos, JDM amber side markers, installing a GT hood and rear hatch, swapping in a new OB interior, pulling the frame, fixing the dents and rust, roof rub bar delete, priming and painting it, lol.

Oh monkey we know you love your wag. Don't lie. You are just whoreing out pics of the new paint. So jelly....

Thanks, lol! Can you believe it used to look like this?
