MaDDraGoN07SpecB
I just ordered the Invidia catted down pipe. I will have a stock mid and Y pipe and nameless axleback deletes. Does anyone have some sound clips or videos of how this would sound and is anyone else running this setup? Would I have to go to a stage 2 tune for this setup? I like it loud so I don't care if it would be. What kind of power out put are to expected?
kzr750r1
Any DP you will need a tune. Power output would all depend on other mods and especially the fuel pump limits.

kzr750r1
Pretty much Stage 2 starts with a DP as discussed here... So yeah. As for the noise it will make... No experience with that part. Still have not installed my Cobb DP but did just place the namless 5" axle back. Only expect a little more exhaust volume.

MaDDraGoN07SpecB
I wonder if my cell phone will be able to make a good recording of the sound after it is installed. I'll post the clip here for anyone interested in hearing it
Max Capacity
It will be loud, but not much louder than it was, you'll like it. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. MaDDraGoN07SpecB
Can you attach sound clips to the forum? Or would I have to upload it to a site?
awfulwaffle
I've had three Stage 2 tunes on various EJ255 cars. Power, calculated from datalogs, ranged between 260-280 whp/270-295 wtq in 3rd gear pulls. For whatever it's worth, the tuner that showed me how to convert log data to dyno curves claimed that the accuracy was within 10% of what he saw on a Dynojet dyno. Your car, stock, makes ~200 whp. Thanks. Really only 200 HP stock. I have a spec b. I thought it was 246 hp?
awfulwaffle
That's 246 hp at the crank, which comes to about 200 hp at the wheels. Pretty much, stage 2 you'll be making more power at the wheels than you currently do at the crank.
MaDDraGoN07SpecB
Oh ok... Thanks. So it should be substantially faster and peppier? I would think a 60-80 HP gain would be quite a difference.
awfulwaffle
Yep, there'll be quite a difference. You'll be back to wishing it was faster about 6 months from now, though
MaDDraGoN07SpecB
So would 0-60 be sub 5 sec?
awfulwaffle
Never timed it, but I would think so. Not a fan of launching my car to find out.
MaDDraGoN07SpecB
I agree. Just feels too hard of thing to do to the diff. I timed a 5.8 sec with stock at a lower rpm launch. So I'm guessing if I did the same thing now it should be right at 5 or like a 4.8 sec.

Infosecdad
Try https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=subaru+legacy+gt+nameless+muffler+delete The downpipe isn't going to make a big difference in sound, so don't worry about matching that exactly. The audio quality from video to video will vary wildly...
MaDDraGoN07SpecB
Anyone can be lazy and go look at YouTube. I am asking if anyone has there own clips and if they have the same setup.
Infosecdad
Um, ok. Looking at Youtube to research exhaust sounds isn't lazy, it's expending effort. I know, I spent hours researching the sounds of different exhaust combinations. Lazy, is asking people to deposit them at your feet so you don't have to look. I have (and many, many others on this forum and around the world) recorded audio of our exhaust. Guess where we typically upload it? Youtube. I was just trying to help you get more audio samples than the relatively small number of people on this forum. But in the end, you can listen to all the recordings you want, they will all sound different. There are so many variables (microphone, speakers, mods, placement of mic, etc, etc) that each recording is gonna sound different. Good luck with your search. MaDDraGoN07SpecB
Wasn't trying to offend you. Was just trying to start a thread here people can place there sound clips and compare them to the setups. I have been on YouTube for hours on end and I agree there not all the same quality. Just getting some action going on this forum instead of on YouTube.
