Sorry you had a bad experience but I think most of us have been there at least once. Order your lights here. They are on this forum, sell a quality product and back it up.

Welcome to the forum as well.

Wondering if their 2017 items will work for 2018. I'm placing my order for one this week and am liking the idea of LED rear turn signals and maybe doing the LED C DRLs as turn signals too (one thing I really want, but this car lacks - along with LED strip tails, but sacrifices have to be made, lol).

They don't have the Legacy as an option for 2018 Subaru on their site (yet).

I bought and just installed the iJDMTOY LED plug and play bulbs with resistors. Easy install, less than 10 minutes. Here is a video of the before and after. Not a huge difference but the LED's are definitely brighter and fill up the housing with light better.

Do you have a link to the bulbs?

We are in the process of bringing in new vehicles each week for comparison photos, installation videos, etc etc. Still searching for a 2018 Legacy to bring in so we can film videos like this with our new USA-made options:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSDsNZxzukU]How to Install 2004-2017 Subaru Impreza Headlight LEDs | Diode Dynamics - YouTube[/ame]

Most of the 2017 products will carry over though!

Thanks!

Hello All,

Over the weekend I did a 7440 to 7443 bulb conversion. Used 4 switchback led bulbs from Diode dynamics. I have the front ones tapped into the tail light fuse so the white light portion of the bulb turns on when the parking lights are activated. The turn signals work as normal and switches back to white when the turn signal is shut off. For the rear, I tapped into the reverse lights so I have 4 reverse lights when that is engaged. A bit over kill but I can definitely see at night haha. Just wanted to share what I’ve done to my 2018 Legacy.

If anyone else is looking to upgrade more of their lights, Diode Dynamics has a BLACKFRIDAY coupon code to save 20% on your order. I got a trunk strip LED light from them in the Spring, and I put in an order to finish replacing my interior lights!

How does the trunk strip look? I was interested in that as well.

Upgraded the wifes Legacy headlights. H11 low beams with CLD(Car Lights District) Helios & high beam with Xenon Depot 9005 Extreme LED Pro series. Quite the improvement over stock bulbs.

Just a side note. She drove her car last night and called me, " holy shit are these lights bright !!! ) SO they are worth the $$$.

Just not so nice for the people in the opposite direction.

Well you dont drive with high beams on to oncoming traffic and low beams are adjusted and have a very defined cut off. So sleep well my friend. Most of us who upgrade, adjust our lights accordingly.

Bulldust!

ROTFL :icon_lol:

Off late I see a ton of cars where the low beams are extremely bright when you are at an angle (curved roads/ turns) but straight ahead its not as bad. What I'm still not sure of is if the newer cars coming with factory LEDs have this down side of if its people putting cheap LED bulbs into halogen projectors that even after "adjusting" spit out light in directions they shouldn't be..

Bulldust!

:lol:

I believe bright lights promote safety, especially with motorcycles. That is why I put in a LED bulb in my motorcycle light. Since then, I have noticed a big reduction in the number of cars pulling out in front of me. For that I say if its too bright for some motorists eyes, too friggin' bad, but my life depends on YOU seeing me.

For my Legacy I put in LED's for my DRL's which are also the brights. During the day the lights are quite bright, but during daylight hours its not going to blind anyone. During the evening, and when you are on a dark unlit road and put on the brights, wow what a difference. It's nice to be able to see way down the road and the sides lit up nice and bright. Allowed me to see a coyote once in the ditch just prior to him running across the road, and I was then able to brake in time to avoid hitting him.

Hi all, I've done some searching here but haven't found anything about my specific question. I would like to add fog lights to my 2019 Legacy Premium. There is a kit from Subaru that fits the 2018 model and it's available from most of the usual online vendors.

However, I have emailed and called several vendors and local dealers and none of them can tell me if this kit will fit the '19 model or if there's a different kit for it. One thing that concerns me is that I popped off the cover of the engine compartment fuse/relay panel and found that the relay and fuses for the fogs are already in place. I kind of wonder if they have re-purposed that spot for something else?

I did find here that it's cheaper to buy the parts piecemeal than as a kit, but I guess the major question here is whether the bezels/covers/inserts from the '18 Legacy will fit the '19. I can pretty much wing it with everything else.

TIA

2018-19 are pretty much the same,also you check behind bumper of the fog light connector is already there.

I did find the connectors behind the bumpers for the lights themselves. I pulled down the lower dash, but was not able to locate a connector for the switch. All the connectors on the switch cluster are plugged into active switches.

I bought the 2018 Legacy fog kit. The lights themselves are LEDs similar to the factory fogs on the '18 and '19 Legacy. Everything fits nicely onto the '19 model except for one major issue: there is NO connector for the switch under the dash. Not plugged into a switch blank, not taped up to a harness somewhere, nothing. I spent hours looking for it.

Being a communications tech, I used a "fox & hound" cable tracer to find the trigger wire for the relay in the engine compartment fuse / relay panel. It plugs into a connector on the back of the under dash fuse box and needs a ground to pull the relay in. If I ground it, the fogs stay on continuously with other lights, ignition, everything else off. The fog light indicator on the dash does not light.

Looks like I'm going to have to get a wiring diagram and make up a custom harness as I'd rather not start cutting wires on a brand new car!

Has anyone else run into this?

Hello folks - i had spent a bit of time earlier today searching the site for assistance with the fog light install (yeah, oem, i know, boring.) but i hadn't found the details on how.

I even caved and went to the dealer to buy the bulb just to see if there was a trick to it - the tech even came out and said it was stuck. What i found was it was required to remove the harness/connector from the bulb prior to turning it to remove. I'm assuming several of you already knew that, however in my searches and search results most of the fog light discussions warped into a headlight discussion or with posts on getting a different setup completely.

so - thought i would put this up for anybody else.

2015 Legacy 3.6R Fog light replacement = remove wire/connector first, then turn, then pull - easy peasy.

OK, here's how to make the 2018 Legacy OEM fog light kit work on the 2019 model.

As with any electrical work, be sure to DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE before starting!

Follow the instructions that are readily available online (but they don't come with the kit.) The wiring for the lights themselves is there and the relay and fuses were already installed.

When you get to the switch, there is NO "prearranged connector" for it. I searched for hours for it and the dealer couldn't find it either. They simply told me that the kit wouldn't work on the 2019 and there was no "correct" kit available for it.

Not being one to accept defeat so easily, I bought the service manual (in .pdf form) and studied the wiring diagrams. I found that the wiring for the lower-dash switch (if it's there) simply parallels the wiring for the ring type switch on the signal / headlight switch stalk. I pulled off the lower steering column shroud and sure enough, the wires for the fog switch were there. I jumped across them and the fog lights came on and worked just as designed. On with the low beams (auto or manual mode) off with the high beams. The green indicator next to the speedometer lights up when the fogs are on.

I used a "fox and hound" cable tracer to find the white wire from the switch. It reappears in a black, 32-pin connector on the rear of the under-dash fuse & relay panel, on the bottom right looking from the driver's seat. The wire is white, at the bottom of the connector next to a yellow wire.

I used a posi-tap (I HATE the Scotch Lock type taps!) and brought a wire to the area of the switch. The other 3 connections needed for the fog switch can be tapped off the trunk opener button. The kit comes with a short pigtail that connects between the fog switch and the missing harness connector. Cut off the harness end and connect the wires from the switch as follows:

White to the wire you brought from the back of the fuse panel (to relay);

Blue to the Black wire on the trunk button (switch ground);

Red to the Green wire on the trunk button (switch backlight hot);

Black to the Brown wire on the trunk button (backlight ground).

The instructions say to install the fog switch in the bottom row, far right of the lower-dash switch panel, but that position was taken by one of the Eye Sight buttons on my car. The second spot from the left was empty so I put it there.

My car is a 2019 (U.S.) Legacy 2.5i Premium with the all weather package and Eye Sight. Other models should be similar, but your mileage may vary.

Has anyone figured out how to change the bulbs in the map lights? '19 3.6R with moonroof/Eyesight. All the owners manual says is that the bulbs might be hot, so see the dealer!

Took longer to type this question than to change the bulb. Pop off the clear cover of the light and pull bulb out

Put these in when you do. Diode Dynamics make quality lights. I have replaced all my lights with their bulbs.
