'99 30th Anny, adding keyless entry

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else done this? I've tried two modules with two different part numbers that plug in but they both pop the power lock fuse.

Revisiting this a year later after giving up. I figured it out. My dad recently bought a 99 Leggy Outback Limited on the cheap and I've been fixing it up for him to drive. It has a functional keyless entry so I figured I'd temporarily pull that and swap it into my 99 30th anny L. Having the two cars together was the key.

The non keyless cars have a separate door lock relay box/module on a separate harness connector that has to be unplugged, otherwise having both modules plugged in results in a blown fuse when the locks are actuated.

Hope this helps someone in the future. Ended up being very simple in the end. http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/61963ee81b0d7/received_55910589.mp4

New issue. I can't get into programming mode. Ive read to get in the car, close the door, and cycle the ignition on/off 10 times. The horn should honk then and it doesn't.
