Jb welded tmic?

Recommended Posts

What are you trying to repair? There are kit's on eBay to "bulletproof" the OEM tmic's. I just installed one of her kits a few weeks back.

Just heard of it for leaks on the driver's side of the tmic we're the plastic is crimped by the metal. Looking to see if it works as a cheaper by"bulletproof".

I can't comment on the effectiveness, but it sounds like it'd be a good idea to crimp the tabs down before applying jb weld. people are also saying to clean the crap out of things with something like acetone before applying it as well. *I know that might sound obvious to thoroughly clean the area, but it makes sense to use something a little stronger than just degreaser or something.

You are right. The most important thing is to treat the surface well with acetone or any product containing sufficient alcohol. That is one of the most critical steps in welding metal. You also need to understand how important it is to choose a suitable welding machine. They come in entirely different for a particular type of work. I didn't understand that before, but now I can say with certainty that it's 70 percent of the quality of your work. I bought my welder here https://ratemywelder.com/lincoln-welder-reviews/. A friend of mine often praised Lincoln Electric for its quality products, and now I have seen it myself.

If you're asking how it's done, I don't recommend that you do it. It could work in a pinch and hold like it did for Notorious, or it could just be a giant waste of your time. Definitely make sure the intercooler is clean clean before attempting or the jb weld wont seal any thing. This can prove difficult depending on how healthy your engine is, I've pulled a bunch of these intercoolers off and generally have to set them on a rag to avoid a mess.
