alex21
My '07 spec.B is more or less stock. The only things I've modified down below are the struts. It was in the shop for another repair when I asked if they could put a hitch on while it was in there. I was told that this model Legacy can't have a hitch installed. Just wondering if this is true...

Bdubs
The OEM Outback hitch will bolt right up to the sedans. Just doesn't have the harness for trailer lights like the OB does. You can always make one though.
wengermi
I have the oem hitch installed on my 07 spec.b. Its been there for years with no issues. I spliced the harness into the tail lights. I did my research on it and everyone was saying that the oem one was best. Everyone I talked to said the other hitches tear up the frame after years of use. There are thread inserts in the sub frame for the oem hitch that should have plugs in them that pull straight out. For the wires, you have to pull the plug where the spare tire goes so you don't have to drill holes. The oem trailer harness has a grommet around the wires to reseal the hole.
