zmfc
I have an 05 LGT that has a brembo set up from an STi. I currently have on 04 STi BBSs and they clear the calipers by less than the thickness of a quarter. I have a set of first gen Crosstrek wheels that I'd like to put some snow tires on and use as my winter set. I was finding that the BBS has an offset of +53 and the Crosstrek wheels are +48, so if I get a >5mm spacer, it should clear, right? I have never used spacers before so I'm not sure. I was also wondering whether I should try to get a slightly taller and skinnier tire for snow use. For reference, I don't drive my car much anyway, so mileage and road noise aren't huge concerns if that matters.
GTBGUY
zmfc - The Crosstrek wheels even with a 5-8mm spacers may not be able to clear the Brembos, as the spoke profile is likely to protrude in the same space as where the calipers sit. Plus, running larger than a 5mm spacer would require you to extend your studs as well to maintain the proper thread engagement. Likely best to just sell the Crosstrek wheels and get something which properly clears w/o spacers.
