seanyb505 Posted April 9, 2014 Share Posted April 9, 2014 Flipping through the vacation pics it looks like there is a lot that goes into replacing the window motor. Mainly the removal of glass and a bit of weather stripping/trim. Any one have any tricks or helpful advice? It looks like the motor only has three bolts, could I do a quick switch with one person holding the glass in place? If there is no way around it and I will in fact need to follow the pics that's fine, I just wanted to see if I could cut what will likely take me 2-3 hours down to 30 minutes. seanyb505 Posted April 10, 2014 Author Share Posted April 10, 2014 In case anyone finds this thread later in life: No. There are no shortcuts. The motor bolts to the regulator from inside the door. You do need to remove the glass to remove the regulator. If anything I would recommend getting a new clear film and sealant. I was stressing the entire time about keeping it in good shape to reuse.
