Countchocula
Doesnt open EDIT: IT's Open thanks to (MOST) of your help. If this happens to you, have someone hold the hood release in the open position and open the hood even though it doesn't pop up. Next question...could someone direct me to a way to adjust the latch now that it's open? The cable actuates the latch but it does not pop up. Thanks! Countchocula
The cable is definitely moving and I can hear the latch moving under the hood when the lever is pulled. But not enough I guess. Its cold but not frozen. How else do you get under the hood if the latch won't open. Can anyone help?! Thanks!!
Humble Rumble
You could try removing some of the plastic pop clips that hold on the under cover of the bumper and reaching up behind the grill. Might be tight and dicey though. 2012 Legacy 3.6R Build Thread 5th Gen Legacy BM/BR Body Kit Compendium Thread
NVAKeith
Try having one person push down on the front edge of the hood while you pull and hold the lever.
YeuEmMaiMai
get some lithium grease and spray the locking mechanism and then using the hood lever work the cable and lock assembly.. should be able to open hood after a few pulls on the cable. 08SpecB_DE
Lift up on the hood or give it a few thumps with your fist while someone pulls the lever. If its rusty, a little pb blaster will help loosen up the mechanism.
Scubaboo
Maybe charge the car battery through the cigarette lighter plug so you can get it started and drive it to a repair shop?

Countchocula
Try having one person push down on the front edge of the hood while you pull and hold the lever. This totally worked thanks. Pulling and HOLDING IT it released position while I lifted on the hood got it up. Appreciate it!

BoozeRS05
With the hood open take some motor oil and drip it onto the hood spring locking mechanism. Lower the hood onto the safety latch, but don't close the hood fully. Then actuate the hood on the spring mechanism back and forth a half dozen times. Close hood fully, go about your life. Lube your latch regularly! Just did my specB the other day. BoozeRS05
If you're jammed up in a parking lot or gas station, and have limited supplies it works great. Idk if I keep silicone/penetrating spray with me on the road all the time, probably do have it in my trunk though.
