Knarfious
Went for a 15-minute drive home from lunch, last turn down my road and the coolant temp light comes on, steam starts pouring out from under the hood. I immediately shifted to neutral and cut the engine and coasted into the driveway, had it towed to the dealership and they checked it out this morning, blown head gasket at 75,225 miles.....Has anyone seen one go this early? I know the previous gens of the 2.5i had some issues with the non-turbo head gaskets but according to the service manager and engineer at SOA i'm dealing with this is the first documented case of one going this soon for that model year and motor. Knock on wood, SOA has been great to deal with and I'm hoping they will cover costs of the repair.
acumenhokie
Mine went at 40k but I was pushing 25+ PSI of boost. Everything I've read says it's no longer common in the 2.5i like it was several years ago.
FLlegacy
Leaking was common in earlier model Yeats but actually blowing the cylinder seal was not. So you definitely hit the lottery with that. Good luck with the repair. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
