All parts....save for the catted Cobb DP have been delivered and engine assembly/install should be this week and or next.

First tune from Mike @ Tuning Alliance will be loaded into the AP before start up. New fuel pump (AEM 320) going in after the car is up and running (this I will tackle at home).

Wrapped the Cobb UP with the 2" Inferno wrap and secured with stainless tie wire & worm clamps. f7529ee03d5f9c1c7d40fa6aa5c6f0f3.jpg

And this folks, is why you don't set off the parts cannon lol.

The catted Cobb DP showed up today so I removed the wrap from the 1320 piece and applied it to the Cobb pipe(sorry no pics). Both are nice but I have to say hats off to Cobb. The design and welds are amazing. You get what you pay for stands true here for sure. Hoping the car gets back together in the next week or so.

1320 catless DP for sale. Brand new, even have the box it came in and possibly a Grimspeed adaptor for stock mid pipe. PM for more info.

Can someone verify both the radiator cap and overflow tank cap OEM part numbers that are known to work. I hate to ask but I have read and read and gotten more confused. I searched the latest part numbers I saw and one of them states it will not fit my car. Thanks in advance.

FWIW, I have a turbo tank cap from NAPA. It works fine. It's close to the same pressure setting as OEM.

In reality there are only a few cap styles. You really don't need OEM in this case.

Here's my local dealers parts page, both caps are there.

Oh, I see the radiator cap is not there. Call your local dealership Parts guy's, they'll have what you need. There are many vendors that can get it for you too.

Thanks Max. I know there are others and mine may not even need replacing at this point but I will while the engine is out. So much reading....it's dizzying at times lol. Edited by whitexc

I like to verify the part numbers on parts.subaru.com, subarus main site, so if they don't know then who does lol. You put in your exact car details, and it tells you exactly what part you should use for your exact year and model. I go by what subaru says most times when the forums gets confusing. And from subarus site you can see all the old part numbers they may have used in the past, ie the suppressed parts.

The turbo reservoir cap Part Number: 45137AE00B

Supersession(s): 45137AE00A

https://parts.subaru.com/p/Subaru_2009_Legacy-25L-TURBO-5AT-4WD-GT-Limited-Sedan/Radiator-Cap-Radiator-Cap/49251974/45137AE00B.html

radiator cap Part Number: 45137FE002

Supersession(s): 45137FE000; 45137FE001

https://parts.subaru.com/p/Subaru_2009_Legacy-25L-TURBO-5AT-4WD-GT-Limited-Sedan/Cap-Radiator/49251983/45137FE002.html

reservoir cap Part Number: 45155AG00A

https://parts.subaru.com/p/Subaru_2009_Legacy-25L-TURBO-5AT-4WD-GT-Limited-Sedan/Engine-Coolant-Reservoir-Cap/49252042/45155AG00A.html

So any of these parts numbers would work, suppressed or current. The current being the best choice and better or upgraded over the suppressed version.

Thanks for the help all. I am a Google'r and that gets us in trouble more often than helping us!

Ordered a new coolant pipe for the oil cooler from Napa as this one has seen better days. Another "while you're in there" part. 229bec3bf181ec02263c6afa09c86542.jpg

Nice to know that NAPA has that pipe. How much was it ?

I replaced the wagons back when I put the ej257 in, May 2012. I also replaced those hoses.

You may have missed it, but NAPA just got me the PCV tree last week, it had to come from somewhere a couple of days away. It was $12.00.

Nice. I just replaced my PCV within about 10k when I did the turbo Inlet. Its in good shape. Holy cow if I'd have known how easy the intake comes off that job would have been cake.

May I ask why you went with the Cobb over the 1320, I have a 1320 waiting to go on.....

I was hoping for an invidia downpipe but no one is selling the catless version anymore , guess I could have gutted a cobb or other bit seemed like a waste

I wanted a catted pipe. I ordered the Cobb and the lead time was pretty far out. I bought the 1320 piece to get the car rolling.....and here's to life and projects lol. The Cobb piece showed up. I wouldn't hesitate to run the 1320 piece, especially for the price.

Cple pics of the engine mostly together and headed back in the car with the new Group N mounts and pitch stop. Waiting on a response from Crawford regarding a bracket that is available when mounting their AOS in a Legacy. Aside from that it shouldn't be long now. First map from Mike at TA is loaded up and ready in the AP3.

I did email TurboXS about a midpipe/y pipe combo they sell (their axle back kit is on the car) but haven't heard back on that either. I figured those are the only two original exhaust pieces left aside from the manifold. Might as well go all in.

Sold my factory DP on bookFace to cover my new Cobb DP plus a little so that worked out. a6c4844835b2e1dccc7507f48e1363b6.jpg68c7681829415a0931b17a6a799c095c.jpgc03fd195111f3c7c8f4d796cc9c0cc8c.jpg

Did you think to test fit the tmic before you dropped the engine in the car ?

I hope you got a good price for the stock DP. I got $900 for mine Sept 2020, they are worth much more now at the recylers.

If you recall I am not performing this transplant. Home life and this project were not aligned.

Is there something to look for? Everything Intercooler, inlet, bpv is all stock(bulletproofed). Original turbo massaged by JMP. It should all go back together the way it is supposed to I would guess.

The DP fetched a fair dollar and the good part is it is being used on another LGT and not scrapped. I was offered about the same by two local scrappers and am happy it went to a subie home.

If the turbo was taken apart, the clocking may not be exact. I also hate that stock tmic locating and TB hose.

There may have been play in the mounting of all the pieces that set where the top of the up pipe is located and angled.

All those things create a compound of tolerances that may be an issue. I test fitting mine before dropping the engine in back in May 2012. Just because to me, it was easier to make adjustments if needed with the engine on the stand.
