Infosecdad
11hrs of driving yesterday, she handled it like a champ. Wouldn't know she has 223k miles... Loaded heavy, could barely get my fingers between the rear wheels and the arches. I need to pick up some king springs for the rear for more cargo capacity. Time for some rest on the beach with the family for a few days.

tehspud
Wow, watch that video and you will be buying those wheels...no matter how much they cost! I didn't even get to looking at the price of them. Very nice, for sure. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk I thought the same thing, then I looked up the price. ~$800 / wheel is a bit too much for me right now. Max Capacity
Installing a turbo and I'm struggling so bad with getting the vacuum lines connected to the compressor housing and wastegate. Any tips on connecting and getting zip ties on these lines? Got the wastegate one connected but now trying to secure it. Compressor housing I'm thinking about taping the hose to a wire hanger with a zip tie on loosely then fishing it on, cutting the tape and tightening the zip tie. If your still having trouble, you should start your own thread about this. sometimes things get lost in this huge thread. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. luckybullitt
Hey y’all, I’m shopping for a blue battery tie-down and Cusco caught my eye but there are three types. My battery is 165mm (OEM Subaru). Which one will fit? The sites that sell them aren’t very precise. Thx Side note; http://www.p1woc.co.uk is putting up a group buy for Prodrive anthracite OEM centercaps. I just ordered a set! New production run apparently. Waiting on a few more buyers. apexi
Thanks for 5.5 years and 65k gates Most recent review for the T307 belt on amazon says theirs broke too https://www.amazon.com/Gates-T307-Timing-Belt/dp/B000C2WM02 Got my kit in early 2016 when they started to cheap out on the idlers and tensioner, wonder if they cheaped out on the belt too. Was my first time ever doing a t-belt job when I put this in 5 years ago, but you'd think it would've failed sooner if I messed somethin up. Infosecdad
That stinks. Did the toothed idler pulley seize or did the belt just give out? Edited November 25, 2021 by Infosecdad
apexi
All the idlers spin very smoothly. The only thing I ended up using from the gates kit was the belt I believe, everything else is oem.
s2baru
Bought another friend last night for the driveway. Needs some attention, however for 550$ figured it was better sitting in my driveway compared to the prior owners. Plus it will keep my 1stgen from feeling so lonely. Should clean up nicely. whitexc
No Mobil 1. Get that wallet out and get you some Motul or other quality lube. After selling the diesel and the car being down for months now I haven't even looked for oil. Should probably start stocking up. BoozeRS05
I've had no problem with - Castrol and Pennzoil off the shelf.. I try for a 5w40 in summer and 5w30 for winter if convenient. s2baru
Castrol, Valvoline vr1 for built engine or Redline. Motul and Schaeffer's good reviews if you can find it. Also some Subaru specialist shops have Enoes. Those have always been on my list to use. Run Valvoline in just about everything and multiple vehicles have hit 200k+ on stock iternals

evil03mustang
I just top it off with whatever full syn 5w30 has pretty packaging that looks shiny. [emoji2369] Everything’s $10USD/Qt anyway. evil03mustang
Polished headlights again. Got one of those mothers powerball headlight things and 3 kinds of plastic goop. Did a partial ATF replacement. Used SSM to ensure fluid was at 170°F before calling “full hot” good. Winter tires and rims are on. It’s due for an oil change. I’ll let the dealer do that. I like when they look everything over and give me a shit list. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
seanyb505
Thanks on oil replies. Went with Castrol European 5w40. Was standing in the oil aisle at Walmart when I went to the last page of the oil sticky. 37 pages, the final page has replies from 2019. Most say brotella. Didn't really want to sit there for 5 hours researching.
Max Capacity
I think you made a good choice there, I would use that oil.
