They are a type of McCulloch. I bought them back in 2003 and had them in my 1999 VW Passat with a set of Euro spec headlamps. They totally rocked! But the original bulbs from the Passat were H1s, so I had to get some new H7s. I got them in 6000K color temp.

Hows your grill holding up?

Hows your grill holding up?

Great! That plasti-dip is strong stuff. I'm still holding out some hope of a decent after-market grill showing up (I am not a fan of the current batch of mesh fill openings, I'd like a little more style).

I'm with you. I like the GrillCraft offering, but it is lacking some style. But the factory grill is fine like this. I too will keep this one until something much better comes along. This mod only cost me price of the Plasti Dip and well, the car too I guess...

Thanks Gire! That was the idea I was going for. Mods that look like the way the factory would have (should have!) done it.

Yeah, its one I found on eBay. I was planning on connecting it all the way around the front end, but I only bought the 7ft length, and our cars need at least 8ft to go around from edge to edge. I should have measured it before ordering it. 7ft is the standard length the guy sells, but he'll sell longer if you ask him.

I got the lip on almost on and was starting the right side corner when I noticed it wasn't going to make it all the way. So I cut it near that dip in spot and then started over again with the factory cut edge on the right fender arch back toward the center. Then cut it again.

At first I was a bit disapointed, but after I was done and stood back, I liked it!

This matterial has to be attached via screws and washers. I tried the 3M double side tape and it wouldn't stick to the foamy rubber.

i have the same one. i ordered my first one and it fit perfect end to end i mean it looked like it was measured perfectly. i bottomed out in my bro's driveway and tore it up. ordered a new one and same thing as you, it was too short when i got towards the end. i emailed him and he sent me a new one which is still too short. i made the 2nd one work so now i have a brand new spare if I rip this one. the tape sticks for me fine. have to clean under the bumper with water/soap, than rubbing alcohol and then stick it. haven't had any problems. I like what you did though, it's original and looks great! nicely done..

Chas,

Can you take some pictures of the install of your lip? I like that separation in yours.

Let me see what I can come up with, probably a cell phone shot. Give me a few minutes.

Edit: I'll just start a new thread so this doesn't get lost in the shuffle. I'm sure others would like to see this to.

OK, here's the new thread:

All the info on the lip spoiler is over there with pictures. Hope that helps! :D

Here is my 3.6R from Oz down under. These are 19" rims from a tire place in Longbeach CA i had imported as no one has decent wheels for a 5x100 wheel studs.

What size tires? What offset and width are your rims?

If you went with a different size, could you avoid the rolling?

They are a Privat 19" 5x100

came balanced fitted and nitrogen filled, wheel locks and different selection of centre caps colours.

there is a 8" wide version but i wanted as much dish as i could get.

they fitted these amazing tires from Holland http://www.vredestein.com/Banden_Bandtypes.asp?BandgroepID=1&BandtoepassingID=0&BandtypeID=3&PageID=0&UserSessionID=5850947#

Doesnt matter how hard its raining, it just sticks to the road now:eek:...should have fitted these over a year ago!!

Damn White 3.6R, nicely done sir!

But I thought that the Aussie cars had blacked out headlamps from the factory? It looks great with the wheels being so bright. And that turn indicator in the mirror is super cool too. I hate the NA cars compaired to the JDM offerings.
