mickivanov
There is one small detail above front door windows. I guess is aerodinamics part, but can't find info about what this really is. If someone can explain what is the purpose of this thing? (See the attachment)
lockmedic
Pretty sure it helps align the frameless window to the weatherstripping when you roll it up.

SpecBamf41
So when you close the door with the window up, the window just nails that detail? Sent from my S3 BNR18g on 93oct
lockmedic
Nah, the window tilts down towards the car as you open the door. When you close it, it comes in underneath it initially, and as the door closes fully it slides up into to seat against the weatherstripping. Open/close your door and watch the magic happen! :-) (assuming you had nothing else to do for a couple of minutes). A lot of late model cars with frameless windows have omitted that feature and instead use the power window motor to roll the window down slightly as soon as the door is opened and back up once it's closed. We in the locksmith world call that "indexing" windows, and they kinda suck as they're tight as balls and don't allow you to sneak car opening tools through without risk of breaking the glass. . .which is rather counterproductive. Nothing like turning a $60 opening into a $300 window replacement. -$240 profit! yaaaay!
