So.. I found this cat back exhaust setup locally online and the seller doesn't know what exhaust it is. Its listed for an 08 legacy.. Can you exhaust experts help identify which setup this might be? Thanks for any and all help

Those ones in the link are branded.. The ones I'm looking at aren't.. Would you guys pay $200 for this setup not knowing the brand?

Yes. I really don't think that is a knockoff. Knockoffs always have crappy flanges welded on and not the magnaflow slipons. That is a great price for a catback.

Absolutely. And it's cheap enough that you wouldn't feel bad at all cutting the midpipe and having a resonator put in if it sounds obnoxious.

What Phate said.

For $200 that's a fantastic "canvas" for creating the exhaust you want. Enjoy the loud for a few weeks or months, then finally accept it's too loud or boomy without a resonator and have one installed in the mid pipe. The Vibrant Ultra Quiet is frequently recommended around here. Get one that fits your piping on Amazon.

Also keep in mind that resonator length plays a role in what frequency it will quiet down. If you've got some nasty drone on the highway, there are some calculations you can run to determine the ideal length of resonator(s) to silence the unpleasant exhaust tones and make a loud exhaust far more livable. Not 100% how much the unequal length rumble would effect this, since I've only run calcs for inline 4's and small V6's, but it should still work.

got a link to those calcs?

This guy goes into a pretty good amount of detail for branch-style quarter-wave resonators. I can't find the equation/spreadsheet I had for a normal hemholtz resonator.

Some solid math in this one.
