cobar.alex
Hey guys, I have a 2005 Subaru Outback XT. The original engine is toast (EJ255) so I decided to get a used engine in working condition. The only one I could find at a reasonable price was the JDM EJ20x. I was told that that it would work perfectly even though it is "slightly" different. I got the car back from the mechanic 2 days ago and itis running smooth the thing is that the car is a lot slower. I really don't know much about cars that's why I'm here. My question is: Is it normal that the car is slower? Do I need to do I tune to the car to bring it back to normal? What is the difference between the two engines? What is the difference HP between the two engines? I know that's a lot of questions, I really appreciate you guys taking the time.
choover1101
2.5 liter to 2.0 liter. You lost 20% of your motor capacity. I could see a considerable change in power level. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
utc_pyro
The tuneing required for that motor vs the stock one is completely different. Compression ratio is a lot higher, so it’s likely knocking like crazy. It’s probably stuck with an IAM of “0” trying not to blow it up. OP: you need to get your car protuned NOW.
