If your aftermarket alarm now handles locking and unlocking and the installer bypassed the BIU, get a diagram for the alarm's wiring and hook it up according to that. Should be even easier because aftermarket alarms are designed for easy installation rather than OEM integration. Every time I've installed an aftermarket keyless system, I've hooked it up for one-touch unlock from the start.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but what happens with the wagon's rear hatch? I saw a link to another thread about adding the rear door, but after that what happens when you press the "trunk" button? I didn't want to ask over there because that thread has been dead for years (and somebody was being a total weinie about this mod)

3. Secure wires and cover Red with green strip wire with shrink wrap.

4. TIP: remove the OBD2 plug will let you have better access under the dash.

I did this today... Took about 20 minutes and that was with connecting the wrong side of the red wire the first time... I didn't use a quick connector- I just cut both, stripped both, then connected the greens and the red together, used a jumper to the remaining green wire from the gray connector... Great fix!

Thanks man!

I performed this last weekend on my '08 LGT and it works well. To connect the wires I used a razor blade to to cut around the green wire's jacket about an 1/8" and then a light slice going from one cut around the wire to the other so I could peel off the jacket in just a small section. After opening the wires a bit I fed the fanned out wires from the red wire with green stripe through it and then twisted and soldered the connection. Lastly I wrapped it with electrical tape. This also showed me that I have to fix the rear door motor on the passenger side as it's not working. Could be dirty/greasy as I've read or the motor is dead but that's only $8 on eBay for one from the exact company that makes the OEM units and has a 10mm long shaft with flat side like we need.
