Can someone tell me if that metal cap needs to be replaced - if it can be. I tried to twist it off, but didn't want to force it in case it wasn't meant to thread off.

There's quite a bit of spewing leakage when the engine is at temp. Could it be the overflow hose?

Thanks.

Looks like you need a new cap.

Get an OEM replacement. Double check the number, make sure you get one without wings.

To remove, you need to push down hard and twist counter-clockwise (to the left)

Will do, thanks.

I didn't realize you had to push down and when it didn't budge, I thought it might've been a non-replaceable cap.

There are two for our GTs, they are different pressures.

The round one goes on the radiator, the winged one goes on the turbo tank.

This is also to try to help remind us to fill via the tank and not the radiator.

I, I never thought about it that way lol

You should replace both caps, just because they are old and its cheap insurance to prevent problems.

Oh don'r push to hard the tank is plastic and have been known to crack.
