05+ Driving on thin ice/snow

Recommended Posts

exactly it isn't an oversteer issue or even really the feeling of loosing forward traction, it is an oscillating wiggle in the rear of the car.

I like how everyone just assumes it's bad driving. No one is saying 'my car keeps sliding into a ditch when I try to pass people doing 80 mph on a icy road'.

I bought my 2006 GT Wagon new. I have always run a set of winter wheel/tires. I have NEVER had a problem UNTIL this past winter. My car felt completely loose on an icy I-75 heading north here in Michigan. It felt so unstable at low freeway speeds, that I replaced the tires when I got home. I experienced the same problem on icy roads, with the new Blizzaks. Something has changed. I will have the rear end parts checked out, and an alignment done in hopes of solving the issue. The Ghostwalking thread in the Outback.org, was like hearing that someone else had my rare disease, and I wasn't crazy.
