YeeeeOk
Hey guys, was looking into getting a custom exhaust made for my 2013 Legacy got quoted $2300 this would be from the cat all the way back to the tips. Told the shop I wanted to make it a true dual exhaust. Was wondering if I got quoted high, I haven't gone to other shops yet. Also live in Canada. Any input would be appreciated. Humble Rumble
If that price is in CAD, that sounds about right. I was quoted about $1500 USD for a full stainless custom from the end of the headers back, including about $380 USD for the Raptor headers. As for true dual setup, there's advantages and disadvantages to it. There was another Canadian member in the past that experimented with true dual (pickler), you might try contacting him to pick his brain. He's got some old videos on his youtube here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQDGws54tVO66UXcGjbbIfg and instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/ali_pickler/ 2012 Legacy 3.6R Build Thread 5th Gen Legacy BM/BR Body Kit Compendium Thread

Perscitus
Skip a true dual - caused all kinds of unexpected issues that pickler was unable to tune out or eliminate mechanically. He gave up trying and sold the car as fast as he could. For $2K CAD you should be able to go custom header-back. Lots of good info on what you want on a 3.6R in the 3.6R mods thread. Anything cat-back or y-back will not net any real gains on this platform. The gains are all up front (headers/cats/y-pipe section).

Perscitus
meh, pass - not worth the hassle and cant be properly tuned anyway without a standalone aftermarket ECU.
Scooby Fan
Have you looked at these guys in Quebec? They have/had a great looking full exhaust for 3.6R Legacys for around $1300. https://lachuteperformance.com/ Good video of the set up Edited September 25, 2018 by Scooby Fan
JT_36R
I don't think they offer that exhaust anymore. I did my exhaust at GT custom out in Pickering. I had the Raptors headers and they did everything else. https://www.gtcustomexhaust.com/index.php Have you looked at these guys in Quebec? YeeeeOk
The shop I got the quote from said they knew someone who could tune my car, I'm going to ask the tuner if they can do it properly if not, would I have the same issue if I do a "y" pipe after the headers into a 3 " pipe all the way back to the tip or should I keep the dual exhaust. Perscitus
Keep it headers into cats into y into single mid-pipe into dual axle-back mufflers (just like stock). Try to stick with a 2.25-2.5" ID max. Avoid 3" if possible (no/not much high RPM hp/tq gains, worse low RPM tq). T00ning is no problem - plenty of ppl who can help with a 2010-2014 3.6R. Stay open opensource - avoid Ecutek, avoid any locked down opensource tunes.

Timothy.B
I contacted a local shop that makes performance exhausts for super cars and the sort. He said for the price that the Raptor headers weren't a bad grab, especially because he said it would run me about twice the price to have him make them with little difference in performance. THERE IS THOUGH if you want some cool looking headers (just cause) this awesome guy Dimtry on Facebook that makes them for the EZ30 and he said he can do it for the EZ36. I'm gonna guess the price the same. $900 shipped. Dmitry Shibakoff on Facebook Timothy.B's 2011 LEGACY 3.6R

Hey still debating on my exhaust I might do the headers >cats > y pipe to single pipe out the back or like what you mentioned into a dual axle back. Do you think it would be about the same performance wise / sound wise Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk Edited May 16, 2019 by YeeeeOk
nads
If you do headers plan to get tuned and yes to more power. If you just want a noise change get a catback for a GT.
