ece_tim
I presume I can do this no problem, but I've been out of the audio game so long my mind is fuzzy. Situation: Driver's door speaker is buzzing like mad. Stock stereo. Going to sell car soon. Need to fix speaker inexpensively, but do want to solve problem. Solution: Replace just door speakers (not tweeters as well) with pair of half decent aftermarket speakers. I have no problem picking up an extra stock speaker from someone, but for $50-60 I could get better sound too. This should work fine, correct? BigTDogg MA
Yeah, that'd be fine. Cheapest route is getting good used stock speakers.

EL34
Not yet, The speakers will not be here until Tomorrow (thursday) I also ordered this Kenwood Head and it will be here today http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KDC248U/Kenwood-KDC-248U.html One day after I ordered the head, I went ahead and ordered the speakers. I popped a door panel off yesterday and had a look at one of the speakers. Looks like it's going to be a good move to upgrade those stock speakers. I'll report back after I install them. I just got the car a couple weeks ago and I love it already. My first Subaru
EL34
Installed the Kenwood head unit yesterday and had a listen to the stock speakers. They sound a bit dull and lifeless. Installed the Kenwood speakers this morning They sound way tighter and brighter. I may go for an under seat sub if I can find one that does not cost a bunch
EL34
Update: After a few days listening, I can say I am happy with the Kenwood head and the kenwood speakers. Need more bass now and so I ordered a sub woofer, but not an uder seat model Got a standalone model becuase I have plenty of room in the Legacy cargo area. Will install that next week
