New board options

Since most of us post on other boards, which would you prefer for a new legacysti.com site? VBulletin: [url]http://www.vbulletin.com/[/url] PHP BB: [url]http://www.phpbb.com/[/url] PHP BB 2: [url]http://area51.phpbb.com/[/url]

I'm sorta biased, I've grown accustomed to this format. :cool:

I don't see a reason for major change. I like it the way it is now.

phpbb because it's free I suppose. I don't notice any difference between the two as a user besides the different style, but that can be changed. Which do you as the administer find easier to work with?

A good number of other subie sites run vbulletin, and i wondered if people preferred it. It does have some nice bells and whistles but I can wait for the next phpBB to see how it competes.

I don't think it's as much a style thing as the content and some of the offerings and who is on there. At least that's my feelings. Granted everything takes a little time getting used to, but I think this place is rather easy to flip around and generally rather quick as well, at least on my end. We'll see what the new internet connection does for us tomorrow. ;)

I guess the only thing is that I don't like these smilies as well here, but that could easily be changed if one wanted. I think you would be the best judge on what bells and whistles are worthwhile or not.

I've grown accustomed to this phpBB as well. I like how it's not too showy, but it still looks good and not too simple. Will you be including signatures in the future forum style? If you do, can you make it text only so that it doesn't get overloaded with huge signatures. Maybe a signature with colors would be nice. Oh yeah and also, for the regional forums, can you make SF Bay Area into Northern California forum, since some of us reside in or around Sacramento? :D

I prefer V-bulletin myself.

Doesn't matter to me but I am most accustomed to v-bulletin. This place is fine though, but the smileys do leave something to be desired I guess.
