2011legacy limited radio

Recommended Posts

For 2011 the only factory back up camera for the legacy was the nav unit. The non-nav radio did not have a screen, just an LCD strip. The 2011 outback offered a non-nav back up camera but it was in the rear view mirror. So I’m not sure what factory radio you will install that will use your nav camera. The link I put in your other thread discusses adding an aftermarket radio to a nav car that will use the factory backup camera.

I believe the inner dash structure is different for the nav and non-nav models so switching to a factory non-nav radio is not straight forward.

No, the 13/14 would but they don't work properly with the 10-11. Why are you replacing the nav with the 6 dash cd changer? You can easily swap for an aftermarket head unit and keep all factory functionality.

To swap to 6 disk you need the following

- center console, pocket and bracket from a non-nav car

- 6 disk radio

- You would need to add a way to see the backup camera.

To swap to aftermarket is a bit more expensive but more worth it. You'll need

- Metra harnesses for steering wheel, premium sound, and basic connectivity

- Metra double din console, or the same one you would switch for the 6 disk cd changer.

- android auto/apple car play standard double din head unit

- 12-6V adapter for the head unit to use the backup camera.

I can provide parts if necessary.

Edit; NVA Keith linked my original post. Thank you for that. And yes.. 100% worth the swap and would do it again in a heartbeat.
