Mountain West Meet Thread

I'll be working tomorrow (actually I'm still at work right now). So, won't be able to make it to the Rio tomorrow. But at least it's the last Sunday of Tax season and I'll actually get my weekends back. I'm thinking I might actually head over there with my gf Tuesday though.

Speaking of meet, there is a car show in Castle Rock this Saturday (5/10). It's some sort of charity thing, Z car club is trying to get a big group going. I have never been to this one before so don't know what kind of cars will be there. There is suppose to be some "Rubber Ducky Race" too, with price money...:lol:

Where is the location and time?

It's in Castle Rock town square. Take I-25 to the Plumb Creek exit, go east on Plumb Creek and then turn north on Wilcox. It's not a big town so it shouldn't be hard to find. The show time is 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM.

Apparently car show is new for this year. But you could win $1 million dollars in the "Ducky Derby"...

I'll help out! Ted & access to the USAFA Hobby Shop would be nice too, but if we have to we can do it in my garage.... once I clear out all the crap in a week or two.

sweet! actually i ended up going with the megan's... i found a good used pair on the board with 2k miles and the guy paid shipping... so 700 bucks for them > 1400 KWs (haha sorry ted!). since this is my first pair of coilovers, i could always trade out for different ones if I really get "turned-on" to track days and nice handling :) My young-butt is too soft and feminine, so i'm hoping the 6/8 spring rate will stiffen it up. (diana has an suv so snowboarding/camping trips/rough roads won't be in the lgt anymore so really I'm not that worried.)

I also have cusco sways & avo brackets in the closet - I was going to run this for awhile and inspect my bushings/endlinks regularly, but for a piece of mind I might order up some of the energy suspension bushings a few of the mountain west members were talking about previously so I can leave my oem set-up as-is when i decide to sell. so far, in the reviews I have read, these sways work ok with the stock endlinks (of course, they all break in the long run!)

I also got the racing brake 316mm rear rotor/bracket package in my trunk. Yes, I know, I don't really need this. I don't think I will notice a change from 72.2/27.8% F/R to a better 70.2%/29.8% F/R bias either - but WHY NOT! I'm hoping to see improved fade resistance on my weekend canyon drives with more braking power being applied to the rear wheels, this should actually be noticeable on those long, windy, downhill roads. These will be paired with stoptech slotted fronts and the same pads all around (HPS now for daily, will eventually decide on a track pad), as well as the ss lines & fluid I am running now.

really, all that I am missing is summer wheels/tires and I will be just about satisfied with my lgt. No power Brian? Yep, sticking to good ol' stage uno until I get more hands on experience with the car's handling and performance. yay! (i also have a boost & oil pressure gauge sitting in the closet with cubbypod, but i think I can handle those with a mechanic friend and a 6-pack)

(as you can tell, Diana is moving in so i'm trying to do as much as I can to the car before my money goes to things like candles, shower curtains, potpurri, ummm... greeting cards, the home shopping network... ugh.)

cliff notes: megans, racing brake rear, stoptech fronts, cusco sways avo brackets

so yea, if you guys would like to do a meet that would be great! I was gonna just pay someone to install everything, but an install meet is so much better and some of us (me) get to learn from them! I got the food/drinks/(bay fees if needed) this time - it would be the least I can do!

oh yea i also got new vinyl's that read "speed racer" across the door panels; some of those 'bullet holes' for my trunk; a new dual-wing, extra-tall spoiler (for downforce driving around town) and some of those pimp chrome fenders. those visual mods plus the "9.59" I have written in soap on the back window should make me pretty irresistible to the ladies and gentleman alike.

I am running the cusco front and rear sways with the stock endlinks and have not broken them yet. I do have the MSI endlinks that I was running for a while until I noticed that one was just "hanging" there after my last track day.

Switched to the stockers and have had no problems. The energy suspension bushings made a big difference over the ones that were in there previously.
