TakmaN
So I brought my car into a new shop to get a quick brake checkup and as I thought, my rotors are toast. I have Brembos from an STI, and he pretty much told me that blanks are out of the question and I should get slotted amd/or drilled. Is he blowing smoke? I assume he is since my last car had factory BBK and blank rotors. Considering I don't track my car and drive it pretty easy, are blanks fine or should I get slotted and/or drilled? T_Altland27
If your not driving it hard blanks would be fine if your street racing or tracking then yeah I'd do the drilled and slotted
oldskoolbiker
If you are doing any hard driving DO NOT get drilled as drilled rotors are more prone to cracking. Blanks will be just fine for any purpose, slotted will be fine as well and they do have a little more bling factor. Performance wise there will not be much difference between a good quality blank or slotted. Here are a couple of nice setups: https://www.knsbrakes.com/c/car-series/767_2010+Subaru+Impreza+WRX+STI/240_KNS+4K+Rotors+and+Hawk+High+Performance+Street+Brake+Pads https://www.knsbrakes.com/c/car-series/767_2010+Subaru+Impreza+WRX+STI/223_DBA+T2+Street+Series+Slotted+Brake+Rotors+and+Hawk+HPS+High+Performance+Street+Brake+Pads
TakmaN
Thanks all! The shop I went to pretty much said I can't run blanks with the Brembo's which is dumb because there's a lot of cars that come from the factory with blank rotors and a BBK (like my G37S for example). Not going back to that shop to have my brakes done that's for sure. Now to decide between slotted or blanks...
