Don't know where to post this, but I figured exterior would work.

I wanted to know what the meaning of the "L7" badge is. What's the history and why do people use it?

I've read multiple things. Some people saying it's L7 and it looks like a star and it represents the seventh star in the pleadies constellation. Others have said it actually says "LT" meaning Legacy Turbo. Some even said that the L and 7 look like an "S" at a sharp angle in a lightning bolt with the meaning of the "S" in Subaru. While some say it's just an L upside down to even out the logo.

Yes we are overthinking this, but there has to be a reason why Japan decided to make that logo in the first place. I want to know that reason because not only do I want that logo on my 5th gen, but I'd like to know what to say when people ask about it instead of just saying "It's a "JDM" thing"

Hey! That's my old car. In Japan the Impreza has the I badge, the Forrester had the F, and the Legacy has the L's. I was told that the two L's are meant to form a T representing "Legacy Turbo."
