Another option is the Syms F.E.R. (Front End Reinforcement) which should improve handling by reducing weight at the very front of the chassis. They also claim better cooling by reducing the obstructions to the radiator.

thats pretty sweet, but its not in the states from what i can find.

what did everyone do as far as 1) wheel wells and 2) undertray

wondering if the RalliTEK skidplate would fit with the front bumper...

As far as foglights, i think im gonna pull the zip tie trick. Any issues with JDM headlights mounting up with the usdm headlight mounts?

Any other tips or tricks would be appreciated.

It’s available on Yahoo Japan Auctions. Sadly, US companies, like Oswald Performance, never made a lightweight beam for the BL/BP chassis.

I think he was saying both beams i linked on here were the same...

I know they are def not the same, usdm and jdm. Just wondering how much cutting is truly involved.

I found one for $170 shipped, just want to be 100% sure before ordering it

It's nice to get JDM beam because then you can get the foam inserts and they will fit the beam and the bumper skin perfectly. Getting the foam even new from Japan is not very expensive. They are pretty cheap and light so shipping is not much.

You got a pm - I have a spare JDM front beam I can sell.

For comparisons sake the EDM beam that I bought from Partsouq weighs 4.55 kg. (https://partsouq.com/en/search/all?q=57712AG320)

What I don’t know is the weight of the USDM beam, but the delta between these two is only 6.17 pounds so not major weight.

going pre-facelift with an albero bumper and jdm pre headlights and fenders. I can't think of anyone that actually went back a generation lol. Am I the only one, or does someone have pictures for me of rev a-c front end and d-f rear?

Wonder how its gonna look with the 08-09 rear, but im giving it a shot.

There are some who go facelifted rear with the older front which is basically the same. The pre-facelift bumpers are easier to get and do a swap with in any case.

Will hopefully be toying with the JDM front over this summer. I will be looking through this for hints/tips and tricks for getting the conversion done. Just a bumper cover with brackets/fogs on the way this far, looks like i will need a JDM bumper beam (if I don't want to cut) and a JDM grille, possibly headlight brackets and fender liners. Not sure what else but I will keep reading/researching this thread. Thanks for the information built up thus far Edited by PimpFro

Can the USDM under tray still be used with the JDM front? I want to stick with the stock ones only because of the oil filter window.
Yes, but you need to trim the front end ever so slightly. I ended up trimming mine while putting the bumper on so I knew how much I needed to trim.

I weighed both the USDM and JDM beams (with an analog scale, I don't own a digital one) and the USDM beam weight something like 15 lbs, but the JDM one is 6 of so.

So basically, on a JDM car, you would only save a couple of lbs with the Syms part, while on a USDM car it would probably be cheaper to buy the JDM bumper beam for less money unless you really need that extra air flow in front of the radiator.

I was actually a bit disappointed to find that the bumper beam only saved me 9 lbs or so, since the Rallitek skidplate that I am about to add weights about 12 to 13 lbs more than the stock engine under-tray / splash-guard.

Bumping this thread and posting the sad news that I had to cancel the purchase I made exactly 6 months ago! Bought a front bumper, headlights, bumper beam, fenders, and some other miscellaneous parts. Never seen them :(. Apparently got shipped from the UK to the US. Seller said yesterday the palette is on its way back to the UK .

Luckily, I contacted Paypal yesterday to make sure I get reimbursed. Today was the 180 day deadline for refunds!

Damn :(

Keep a lookout at your local importers.

A couple days ago i found a Face lift Spec B front end for a friend of mine in Houston for $900.00. When he picked it up, he found they had the sedan rear end as well. He got both for less than any of us have paid for any front end.
