airemaggie Posted July 7, 2020 Share Posted July 7, 2020 Hi all, Every now and then I lose engine power while driving and the RPMs literally bounce between 2-3k and the car is essentially in limp mode. CEL comes on usually after the loss of power. Shutting off the engine and starting it back up usually clears the CEL but doesn't always fix the problem. There are 2 aftermarket switches near the steering wheel with a tag that says "ECU Reset". So when I lose power I shut off the car, flip the switches to on, start the car up and drive it a short distance (CEL flashes at this point), then shut it off, flip the switches to off, restart the car and everything is fine.
