HansGT
Picked up some Valvoline Racing Synthetic (VR1) motor oil when they had the $50 rebate promotion. Anyway....it is 10W-30 weight (no 5W-30). Anyone think I'll have a problem with this during summer months? Its been above 90 here in MD for the past month....was going to make the switch over soon. I'm guessing I'd be ok.....thoughts. http://www.valvoline.com/products/brands/racing/racing-motor-oil/8#b

AZP Installs
I wouldn't run a 10 weight in the winter but summer it's ok with higher ambient temps the 10 will flow ok. -mike

Dino oil may be a different story though.
AShoe
I won't comment on oil flow, but the high zinc/phosphorus levels in the oil will damage your oxygen sensors and cats if your car uses any oil.
bluesubie
Many people run 5W-40 in the summer and it is actually thicker at start-up than most 10W-30's. A first number of zero or five does not mean that an oil is thinner than one with a 10. To get a better idea of actual start-up thickness, you'll need to find the CCS/MRV numbers. Your owner's manual, which shows a tempurature chart and oil recommendations for conventional oil, states that you can use 10W-30 and 10W-40 in temps. down to -4F. -Dennis

bluesubie
GC = 507.6 at 0C 276 at 10C. I won't even look up M1 0W-30 since it shears to a 20 weight just from shaking the bottle. And at 30c/86f RT6 = 135.2 GC = 101.6 VR1 = 123.6 M1 0W40 = 113.4 -Dennis
